Who may receive a wish?

We grant wishes to local children from the ages of 3-21, with life-threatening illnesses or severe life-altering injuries/conditions, living in the Yakima Valley. They man not receive a wish if they have or are already receiving a wish from another wish organization.

How do you refer a wish?

Accepted Answer

Anyone can refer a child for a wish; a teacher, friend, neighbor, relative, physician etc.  You can call it in or fill out the Refer a Wish form.

What happens after you refer a wish?

After we receive a referral, we:
1. Send a letter to the family, requesting permission to reach out to their physician and verify condition. 
2. Visit the family to find out the Childs top 3 wishes (only one will be granted).
3. Communicate with the family through the process of granting the wish.

What are some children's wishes?

Accepted Answer

A trip to Disneyland or Sea World, a request to swim with dolphins, meet a celebrity or have their room transformed. Some request to visit grandparents or receive technology to help them with their condition; iPads, computers, lifts.

All our support comes from fundraisers and donations. The money we raise here, stays here within our community.

The Wish Process

Refer a child for a wish

Children, ages 3-21, with a life-threatening illness or severe life-altering injuries/conditions are eligible. They do not qualify if they have had a wish granted before.

Verify child's condition

The organization will request permission to confirm the child's condition with their physician.

Discover child's wish

We will meet with the child to determine what their wish is. We will ask them to share up to three options in case their first choice cannot be fulfilled. Only one wish will be granted.

Wish is granted

4

We will do our best to grant the wish, either by covering all the costs or partnering with the community.
